THINK TANK
Independent analysis, expert commentary, and policy insight informed by the first cross-cultural psychology research program dedicated to Black women’s experiences in the global music industry.
The Think Tank Launches in July 2026
The BWMG Think Tank will launch in July 2026 with its inaugural publications. Established to extend the institute’s contribution beyond formal studies and commissioned research, it will serve as a dedicated home for independent analysis, public scholarship, and evidence-informed commentary on the structural conditions shaping Black women’s professional lives across the global music industry.
Grounded in BWMG’s cross-cultural psychology research, the Think Tank will publish work that interprets industry developments, examines institutional dynamics, and deepens public understanding of the systems influencing access, progression, recognition, and power.
As this body of work takes public form, BWMG welcomes interest from scholars and expert contributors whose work aligns with the institute’s research priorities and editorial standards. Subscribe to be notified when the BWMG Think Tank launches in July 2026 and when its first publications are released.
What We Do
The BWMG Think Tank is the institute’s platform for public intellectual engagement. We produce analysis that extends beyond the boundaries of our commissioned research to address the structural conditions, policy questions, and industry developments shaping Black women’s professional lives across the global music ecosystem.
Our work is grounded in the same cross-cultural psychology lens that underpins all of BWMG’s research and advisory programs. The Think Tank exists to ensure that evidence-informed perspectives are present in public discourse—not simply as opinion, but as analysis rooted in a first-of-its-kind body of scholarship that helped establish and define this area of research within the psychological and behavioral sciences.
What We Publish
Institutional Analysis
In-depth examinations of structural dynamics within the global music industry, drawing on BWMG’s cross-cultural psychology research to illuminate how workplace conditions, organizational cultures, and industry norms shape outcomes for Black women across sectors and territories.
Expert Commentary
Timely responses to industry developments, policy announcements, cultural moments, and published reports. When the industry releases a major study, an institution makes a public commitment, or a significant moment calls for informed perspective, the Think Tank responds with analysis rather than reaction.
Policy Briefs
Concise, evidence-informed recommendations for organizations, industry bodies, policymakers, and educational institutions. Each brief identifies a structural issue, presents the evidence, and proposes actionable interventions grounded in BWMG’s research.
Research Digests
Accessible summaries of BWMG’s completed and ongoing research for industry professionals, journalists, and non-academic audiences. These pieces translate scholarly work into formats that practitioners can readily understand and apply.
